About Course

In this course you’ll learn how to fact-check content, whether it’s in text, photo or video format. We’ll do this by applying critical thinking and online tools. First we’ll try to understand how disinformation is spread, and how debunking and pre-bunking can help the public better discern real information from fake information. This course also covers how to create engaging content on social media to promote fact-checks and tackle the rapid spread of disinformation.

This course is organized by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and In Old News within TechCamp Kazakhstan Small Grants Program supported by U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy in Astana, and MediaNet International Centre for Journalism Public Foundation.
